Dr. N. Rajendran is a distinguished digital payments and technology leader, co-inventor of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and a founding technology member and former Chief Technology Officer of NPCI. During his decade at NPCI, he played a pivotal role in building and scaling national payment platforms including UPI, RuPay, IMPS, AEPS, NACH, BHIM and NETC. He subsequently served as CEO and Director of IFTAS, the Reserve Bank of India’s technology subsidiary, and as Chief Digital Officer and Chief Technology Officer of the Multi Commodity Exchange of India. With more than 25 years of leadership experience, he has contributed to digital public infrastructure, financialmarket technology, cybersecurity, operational resilience and AI-led transformation. Based in Sydney, he advises organisations on fintech, AI, digital trust and post-quantum technologies.
